Position Summary
The Software Developer helps design, build, and maintain applications that support GRO's global ministry initiatives. This includes ministry websites, content management systems, digital libraries, donor platforms, AI-powered solutions, mobile applications, analytics systems, and missionary support tools.
This position is ideal for individuals interested in software engineering, web technologies, AI, digital missions, and building technology that creates eternal impact.
The role may be served as a missionary-supported position, part-time role, internship, volunteer opportunity, or funded staff position, depending on experience, availability, and organizational needs.

Responsibilities
Software Development
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
- Build new features and enhance existing ministry platforms.
- Develop APIs and integrations between systems.
- Collaborate with designers, content creators, and ministry leaders.
- Participate in code reviews and technical planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
- Explore emerging technologies that can improve ministry effectiveness.
- Support AI, automation, and data-driven initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and user experiences.
- Contribute ideas that help expand GRO's digital outreach.
- Work closely with global ministry teams.
- Assist with technical documentation and training.
- Support platform reliability and performance improvements.
- Participate in project planning and implementation.
Qualifications
- Passion for Christian missions and advancing the Gospel.
- Experience with software development principles and practices.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, or similar technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
- Experience with Git, databases, APIs, and cloud technologies is beneficial but not required.

Time Commitment
Flexible based on role type:
- Internship: 10–20 hours per week
- Part-Time: 15–25 hours per week
- Full-Time Missionary Staff: 30–40 hours per week
